Hey all.  It's been a minute, I want to apologize to everyone who's been waiting an inhuman amount of time to receive their mail order, I'm still working out my organizational problems in the wake of my move.  Should be good to go now.

I'm working on getting in a few new records, and hopefully some new books as well soon.  The next update should include a few copies of the marvelous new LP from Pittsburgh's Kim Phuc entitled Copsucker.

Stream it HERE.

'til later, KYEO.

Endless Disaster has now moved to Philadelphia, PA.  Expect new releases and projects in the Philly area soon.

Monday, August 29, 2011

Arrived home from tour this morning just in time to get our guitarist Phil to his job. Thanks to everyone who had anything at all to do with making the shows happen and all the great hang outs and food in between. ESPECIALLY motherfuckers in Providence for being the sickest fucks on the planet.

Date drops, earthquakes, hurricanes, we don't give a fuck.

We somehow sold out of the first run of Veterans / Siblings Split CS, I'll have a second run soon.

There is a significant show approaching.

On August 19, Veterans, Siblings, Apparition, Old Soul (MI), and Memorials (KY), are playing at my house (1519 Spring Lawn Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45223). This is the tour kickoff for Veterans and Siblings, who will be on tour together on the east coast until the end of the month. This will be the final show for Apparition, and likely the final show in Cincinnati for Veterans.

In addition, Endless Disaster will be permanently relocating from Cincinnati to Philadelphia as of September.

Keep checking here for new DISTRO updates, I'm expecting a few copies of Loma Prieta's Last City repress. Stay tuned.

Ampere - Like Shadows LP. Fifteen tracks of the best, most aggressive screamo in existence. All the fury, rage, and woundedness that we have come to expect from these lunatics from Amherst. The wait is over! Members of Orchid, Montcalm, The Last 40 Seconds. No Idea Records.

Foreign Objects - No Sensation LP. Super-energetic, catchy punk songs with vocals that remind me of Bikini Kill. Sounds a lot like more aggressive parts of the early post punk genre, think Wire with more pissed tempos and drumming. Members of Ampere and Libyans. Vinyl Rites.

Captives - Unspeakable Truths CS. If you live in Cincinnati, you are probably as crushed as I am that this band lasted for such a short time. If you live outside of Cincinnati, you missed the fuck out. Some of the best hardcore I've heard in years, completely inhuman drumming and high anxiety throughout. get the tape or pose. Ex and current members of Paralyzer, Black Dove, Tumorfeast, White Walls, Silo, and I Fail

get all three HERE.

I am now totally sold out of the Apparition demo CS. Stay tuned for a couple new releases on xEDx, and updates about tours/future plans.

Veterans is wrapping up the mixing process for our side of a split with our good friends SIBLINGS. It will be released on xEDx first as a cassette in time for our tour together this summer, and as a 7'' before the Fall. We couldn't be more excited for the next couple months.

Here's a sample from our side of the split:

I have a few new items in my DISTRO you should check out.

Nukkehammer - Soviet Rust Belt 7'' EP. Seven tracks of absolutely scorching d-beat punk, heavily influenced by the japanese tradition. Totally out of control feedback and brilliant lyrics. pretend the cold war never ended. These have been selling out everywhere, get it while you can! Solar Funeral / SPHC / Hesitation Wound.

Escalator - Performance Anxiety CS. Second cassette release from this unhinged blistering hxc two-piece from CT. Imagine a rawer, more chaotic, less metallic HHIG kind of sound. awesome cover of the song "Pure Entertainment" by the legendary Failure Face. Don't miss it. Released by We Rise.

Expect another update soon. I'm expecting a few copies of Ampere's new LP, "Like Shadows" and a few new cassette releases from local bands shortly.

June 11 Events

As many of you already know, a friend and neighbor of ours named Marie Mason has been incarcerated for the last several years, convicted on charges of arson and property destruction undertaken in defense of the natural environment. Starting this June, we who support her are initiating an annual day of solidarity when we will organize events to raise awareness of Marie's case, as well as to raise money for her legal and life expenses.

Additionally, we will be directing support to another anarchist political prisoner, Eric McDavid, who has been sentenced to twenty years in prison for a crime that never even took place.

There should be a good assortment of things happening here in Cincinnati and many other cities around the world on June 11th, check back here to get updates on what events are happening and when they start and end.

die hard

Sometimes I worry people forget the part of hardcore that I think is most interesting and valuable. That part is the idea that we can act decisively to change ourselves and our behavior in concrete ways to fight against the onslaught of oppressive and alienating social relationships.

Often, people treat hardcore like a fun weekend getaway that's nice while it lasts, but after time, they have to "grow up" and join the work week. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be responsible, or even that you shouldn't work (though, you probably shouldn't, really), but the whole reason I thought we all came here was that we'd been spit out by human society, and we weren't about to go begging at the doorstep of "adulthood" or worry too hard about our parents or high school classmates thinking our life choices are legitimate. The world they've offered us was unappealing and unlivable when we were teenagers, and that hasn't changed just because we've aged ten years and gotten tired of fighting. There's nothing more disappointing than watching your friends slowly drop out of the hardcore community because they're embarrassed to be seen doing something so "childish". As if it was so much more dignified racking up tens of thousands of dollars in debt from student loans, having neat little heterosexual relationships, squirting out a few wretched little babies, and working 50 hours a week until you mercifully die of boredom.

Hardcore could just as easily be an indefinite vacation from ever having to give a fuck about their priorities. A permanent refusal to give over our minds and bodies as fodder for their pathetic self-negating pyramid scheme. Total apostasy from human society, the formation of a new species.
